What is Embryo Freezing?
Embryo freezing, also known as embryo cryopreservation, is a process where embryos created through in vitro fertilization (IVF) are frozen and stored for future use. This technique allows couples to preserve their embryos for later transfer, increasing the chances of pregnancy from a single IVF cycle.
At Seeds of Innocence, we use advanced vitrification techniques to ensure high survival rates and successful embryo transfers.

How Does Embryo Freezing Work?
Embryos created through IVF are assessed, selected, and frozen using vitrification. They are stored in liquid nitrogen at -196°C and can be thawed for transfer in a later cycle.
Embryo Freezing Procedure
Our embryo freezing process involves several steps:
Embryos are cultured and evaluated for quality.
The best embryos are chosen for freezing.
Embryos are frozen rapidly to minimize ice crystal formation.
Storage in liquid nitrogen at -196°C with long-term monitoring.
When ready, embryos are thawed and transferred in a suitable cycle.
Embryo freezing has shown excellent success rates: high survival after thawing (95%+), similar pregnancy rates to fresh embryo transfers, and reduced risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS).
Risks are generally low and similar to IVF. Discuss any concerns with your specialist.
No recovery is needed for the freezing process itself. Recovery after a subsequent frozen embryo transfer is similar to fresh IVF transfer.
Cost includes freezing, storage (annual or long-term), and thawing/transfer when you are ready. Our team will provide a clear cost breakdown.
